I just ported over my blogspot blog to a wordpress blog. Let me say, this open source blogging utility kicks ass. First of all it gives me the freedom to basically do whatever I want. Blogspot is too limited as they still need to make money (even though it’s owned by google). Secondly I can now make any modification on php without worrying about blogspot denying me.

I’m also working to get my photo’s all uploaded to flickr. I’ll think I’ll pay for the pro account as this will allow me to create unlimited sets which will make it easier for the php gallery I’m working on, along with flickr’s api.

What does the design look like? Well I’m still tweaking it a bit, but it’s a very basic design. I wanted something simplistic and not too fancy (I think that’s the thing to do nowadays).

I’ve entered myself into the Fall 2005 CSS Reboot redesign community.

CSS Reboot is a community event for web professionals. November 1st, 2005 at 12:00 GMT Rebooters from all over the world will launch their web standards-based redesigns simultaneously, bringing traffic, interest and a little respect to their sites. There are no prizes or arbitrary winners, just great exposure and the knowledge that we all participated in something great.

What this will basically do is give me a place where I can showcase my website to a greater number of people. I’ll still have it intigrated with my blog, which will still be the main aspect of the site, but I’m going to try and get it intrigrated with my flickr account.

PS. I may steal some of your ideas :)

So I have no idea what I did. I made the previous post and the template was leaving a huge space after the post and before the post footer. I tried a whole shit load of things, but nothing was working.Peace of shit…do I have to make everything myself?

This template will be here for a bit till I can figure stuff out.

My final working date in Brandon will be Friday, August 5th, 2005. I’ll have the weekend to party up, say my goodbyes and then start packing up. Head out to Calgary about Tues/Wed as the packers will probably take a few days to get there. Then it’s big spending when I get there, as I have no couch, tables, plates, glasses, cutlery. You know…all the necessities.Shot a 93 in Tuesday golf league. It’s not bad, but the sad part was that I shot a 52 front 9 and then a 41 back nine. On the front, I couldn’t chip or putt a thing. On the back, I was hitting every putt. Now why couldn’t I shoot a 41 front and back?

Also changed the image hosting of the webpage files from photobucket to imageshack. I did this for the sole reason that photobucket files are blocked at work, which made my site not look as it should. This site will hopefully let people back home know what’s going on in the life when I finally head out west.

Oh ya and check out www.drunkineurope.com. No it’s not a porn site, just a couple of friends who are touring Europe

Here’s to a fun and memorable last summer in Brandon!

The new design is basically all finished up, just a few more tweaks here and there. I’ve hooked it up back to the main site. I’ve taken off the movie and music list for now. I’m going to have to redo those someday…which basically means I have no idea when. I’ll get the movies up before the music though, as more people tend to want to view those.www.mattkiazyk.com now opens up the blog first. I figured it was where the “news” is and should be loaded up first.
