I decided this year, that I was going to get a Christmas tree. But when I got to the store to go buy one, I almost backed away from my promise. Trees aren’t cheap. But I am. So I opted for what I call Matt’s Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. Granted it’s not exactly like the Charlie Brown Christmas tree, but it’s damn close. Currently it only has a few balls and some lights on it as you can see from the picture, but I’m sure over the years I’ll be getting more.
Forgot to mention a few weeks ago that I got my Hep A/B shots for the trip. It was at a local travel clinic downtown just a couple of blocks from work. My only gripe. You have to pay $70 for the shots. I sent them away to my benefits plan, but I’m not sure if I get that money back or not. I also got a tetanus shot as I hadn’t had one in 10 years (yes that was high school..Grade 10). So my experience with a needle in the first time in 10 years was positive. No fainting or excessive crying this time!
With that said, only 23 days until the Taiwan trip. The only thing I really have left to purchase is some travel insurance. Probably check out a few places next week to see what I can get.

[...] I go for my final Hep shots tomorrow. I sent in the previous shots to my benefits company and guess what..got squat back. Apparently its not covered. I even asked the benefits people at work and they didn’t think it was either. Oh well. At least the extra medical insurance only cost me $42. [...]
