Bye Bye iPod…Hello Dallas

If anybody doesn’t know. The dog to the right is Magic from back home. We got her as a family dog when I was in grade 7. 12 years later she’s still as active as always and getting herself into trouble as always.
Some sad news to report. A few weeks ago I dropped my old school iPod mini on the ground. No, not the soft grass, or the soft carpet, but the nice hard cement. When it hit too, it wasn’t a pretty sound. The click wheel was kind of pushed in, but I easily forced that back out. A couple of hours later, when I went to go listen to it, it wouldn’t play any songs. Everytime I’d hit play it would go back to to the main screen. You could hear the little harddrive inside, trying to work, but to no avail.
I wasn’t all to disappointed. I was wanting to get a new iPod before my trip to Taiwan so this accident just confirmed that I’d get one (sooner rather then later). I’ll probably go for the new iPod Shuffle. Sure, I’d rather have the iPod Video, but I don’t really want to shell out over $300. And when am I ever going to listen to 60 GB worth of music?
And in more exciting news.
On November 14th, I’ll be flying to Dallas. Yes Texas, not Manitoba (seriously…there’s a Dallas, Manitoba…not too far from Miami!) Work is sending myself and a co-worker to a Visual Studio Live Conference. I’ll be there 4 days and 3 nights.
And only 2 1/2 months more to go till Taiwan!

[...] I also purchased a new mp3 player this weekend. It’s the new iPod shuffle. As you can see to the right, it’s ridiculously small. I put the quarter there so you could get a perspective of how small it actually is. I needed a new one as my old said hello to a little pavement a couple of months ago. Plus I have some long plane rides coming up. Dallas is a good 4 hours. Taiwan, well, lets just say the battery will probably run out on the player before I get to my destination on that trip, so I’ll have to entertain myself in other ways. [...]
