So in the big move to Calgary, only Karen was on a term position, still deciding on whether or not she wanted to stay here or not. But ultimately she decided to head back to Brandon to her family.
So on Sunday a bunch of us helped her move out of her downtown apartment. Now earlier in the week she said that she was throwing away her hideous couch that she got from her cousin. Thank god. But she also said that she was going to throw out her queen size bed as she didn’t want to pay to move it back to Brandon. She asked if I wanted it, but the only problem was that I needed to transfer it down somehow to my place. After a few emails, I finally found someone who had a truck (in Brandon, that would’ve been easy…Calgary, not so much).
So my guests now have a nice large queen size bed to sleep on! It’s an upgrade compared to the blow-up bed that a few people have slept on (sorry about that, but it’s all I had).
By the way. Why do all beds have flowers on them? It’s a serious question. Do they just take old crappy 70’s fabric that will never be used for anything else? Because this new bed had an orange/pink flower arrangement on it. Not pretty. Let’s just say by Tuesday, Ikea had covered it up nicely, never to be shown again.
Oh ya, the couch we threw in the dumpster at the back of her apartment. Word on the street says by Sunday night the couch was gone! And good riddance!
