I went home for a couple of days starting November 23rd and leaving Calgary at a pleasent +7°C I landed (an hour late) to a balmy -29°C. Seriously folks, that is one of the main reason why going to back to Manitoba will come few and far between. I wasnt’ ready for it. It’s like when you go on a winter vacation to somewhere really warm and you come back to cold. Your just not use to it. My Manitoba blood is now fading fast into oblivion!

So the next day I made the long…boring road trip back to the home town. After living in the fast paced, large city mentality for nearly 4 months, going back to rural Manitoba takes some getting used to again. Don’t get me wrong or anything, Brandon is nice and all, but once you drive in Calgary for a while, going back to Brandon, everything seems slow and dirty. There’s nothing better then going 120 down the Deerfoot without stopping until you hit your destination. But in Brandon, there’s lights every block plus max speed is 50 in most places. Do I sound bitter enough?

Over the next few days I went back to the old office, went out for lunches/supper, and just said hi to a lot of people. Friday was the UFE party where everybody passed. There’s nothing like free alcohol to ease the mind!

Thanks for the good times people! I’ll be back sometime - only because I have to now!
